May 16-1: Czech Beer Festival, Prague, Czech Republic
The sixth annual Czech Beer Festival will be held at the Exhibition Centre in Prague. The festival, which organizers describe as "the largest gastronomic event in the Czech Republic," will feature a beer tent with a capacity for 10,000. There will be more than 70 Czech beers, served in glass pitchers by costumed servers; a wide range of food, including dishes from local chefs, pork and beef butchers, delicatessens, bakers, and confectioners; and live music on stage in three tents.
May 20-1: Nevada Beer Weeks, Las Vegas, Reno, and other locations in NV
The third annual Nevada Beer Weeks will take place at hundreds of bars, retailers, and other establishments in Las Vegas and Reno, as well as at other locations in Nevada. These 13-day celebrations will include several beer festivals, along with beer dinners, beer and food pairings, tap takeovers, and special tastings.
May 23-2: Norwich City of Ale, Norwich, England
The city of Norwich, England, will host City of Ale 2013. Hundreds of Real Ales will be available at 30 pubs and other outlets in Norwich. Events at recent festivals have included a Launch Party and a Closing Party and Awards Ceremony on the final day of the celebration, along with a Brewers' Market, pub quizzes, live music, food and beer pairings, and an opportunity to meet brewers.
May 25-1: Asheville Beer Week, Asheville, NC
The second annual Asheville Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around Asheville. Events at last year's Beer Week included the Brews Cruise, daily brewery tours, a scavenger hunt, beer dinners and food and beer pairings, a beer knowledge quiz, the "Beer 101" educational program, games, and special tastings. Beer Week culminates with the Beer City Festival (listed separately on this calendar).
May 28-1: Colchester Real Ale and Cider Festival, Colchester, England
The Colchester Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 28th annual Colchester Real Ale and Cider Festival, which will take place at the Arts Centre, a historic deconsecrated church. Organizers expect to have more than 120 beers, Real Ciders and perries, a bar with draft and bottled Belgian beers, and English wines. Food will be available at all sessions, and there will be live music.
May 29-2: Mondial de la Biere, Montreal, QC, Canada
The 20th annual Mondial de la Biere will be held indoors at the Palais des Congrès and outdoors on Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle in downtown Montreal. Organizers expect to have about 500 beers from around the world, including hard-to-find beers and with beers specially brewed for the festival; Quebec cider and other food specialties from the province; and the Mbeer series of conferences and seminars. Admission to the festival is free.
May 30-2: Bierbörse, Schwerin, Germany
The third annual Schwerin edition of Bierboerse, a series of beer festivals held across Germany, will take place at Bertha-Klingberg-Platz. Hundreds of beers, including hard-to-find German microbrews, will be served in a Biergarten atmosphere. Festivities also include food and live entertainment, breweriana, and artisans' stands. The Bierboerse website is entirely in German.
May 30-1: Great Grampian Beer Festival, Aberdeen, Scotland
The Aberdeen, Grampian & Northern Isles Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 27th annual Great Grampian Beer Festival, which will take place in the Richard Donald Stand in Pittodrie Stadium. The festival will feature "the longest bar in North East Scotland," with 100 beers (including "Saturday Specials"), along with cider and perry.
May 30-1: Stockport Beer and Cider Festival, Stockport, England
The Stockport and South Manchester Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 27th annual Stockport Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at Edgeley Park. More than 200 beers and ciders will be available, including a special festival beer and beers from across Europe at the "Real Ale in the Bottle" Bar. There will be live entertainment all three days, along with hot and cold food and merchandise stalls. Families very welcome. The festival supports Walthew House for people with visual and hearing impairment.
May 30-1: The Continental's Tenth Beer Festival, Preston, England
The Continental, a public house and restaurant in Preston, will host its tenth Beer Festival. This three-day event will feature more than 100 craft beers, along with small-batch ciders and perries, which will be served in the beer hall. There will also be live music under a large marquee in the beer garden; and food, including the popular hog roast. Admission is free.
May 31-1: American Craft Beer Fest, Boston, MA
Beer Advocate magazine and Harpoon Brewery present the sixth annual American Craft Beer Fest, which will take place at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston. The festival, which organizers describe as "the East Coast's largest celebration of American beer," will consist of three tasting sessions, each with more than 600 craft beers from over 125 American brewers, along with a beer education program and food for purchase.
May 31-2: Glastonwick 2012, Coombes, England
Punk musician Attila the Stockbroker and cask beer advocate Alex Hall present the 18th annual Glastonwick, which will take place at Church Farm in Coombes. This three-day event, which organizers describe as a "beer, music, poetry and more beer festival," will feature 85 cask-conditioned ales, along with a selection of farmhouse ciders and perries; 22 musical and poetic acts; and food for purchase.
May 31-1: Guildford Beer Festival, Guildford, England
The Guildford Cricket Club will host the fourth Guildford Beer Festival, which will take place under marquees on the club's grounds. The festival, held on the weekend before Guildford Cricket Week, will feature more than 60 cask ales from independent breweries in Surrey and surrounding counties, along with hand-crafted ciders, wines, and soft drinks. Food will be available, and there will be a varied entertainment lineup.
May 31-2: Kohler Festival of Beer, Kohler, WI
The fifth annual Kohler Festival of Beer will be held in the Village of Kohler. On Friday evening, there will be a beer dinner and pub crawl. Saturday and Sunday activities include "Cheers to Beers" tasting sessions, "Eggs and Kegs" beer brunches, beer and food pairing classes, a homebrewing competition, a 5-K Beer Run, beer seminars, and a golf tournament.
May 31-1: Magic City Brewfest, Birmingham, AL
Free the Hops! presents the seventh annual Magic City Brewfest, which will be held at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark in Birmingham. Recent editions of this festival have featured more than 200 beers, including rare, specialty, and cask-conditioned beers never before seen in Alabama; the "J. Clyde," serving beer from a fire truck; two live bands each day; and food from local restaurants and canteens. VIP tickets, with a special selection of beers and high-end food, are available.
May 31-9: Philly Beer Week, Philadelphia, PA
Philly Beer Week 2013 will take place at numerous locations in and around Philadelphia. Recent Beer Weeks have included a number of signature events, including the Opening Tap (listed separately on the calendare); Smoke 'Em If Yous Got 'Em, a beer and barbecue festival; Forum of the Gods, a panel discussion with the top names in beer culture; the Jackson Tutored Tastings; and Zythos America. In addition, there were hundreds of events including beer dinners, special tastings, releases, and meet-the-brewer evenings.
May 31-8: Vancouver Craft Beer Week, Vancouver, BC, Canada
Vancouver's fourth annual Craft Beer Week will take place at various locations in metropolitan Vancouver. This celebration of craft beer culture in the region will consist of daily headline events, including the VCBW Beer Festival. Other events at recent festivals have included beer dinners, tap takeovers, pub crawls, rock concerts, meet-the-brewer nights, and a "Sisters of the Tap" session.
1: Beer City Beer Festival, Asheville, NC
The Asheville Brewers Alliance and Brewgrass present the 2012 Beer City Festival, which will be held at Roger McGuire Green in Asheville. This afternoon event, which is part of Asheville Beer Week, will feature beer from more than 30 North Carolina breweries, along with music from four live bands.
1: Beerfest, Santa Rosa, CA
The 22nd annual Beerfest, "The Good One," will be held at the Wells Fargo Center in Santa Rosa. This afternoon event will feature beer from more than 50 Northern California breweries, along with gourmet food from Sonoma County purveyors and music by local performers. Festival-goers are invited to vote for the "People's Choice" winners in both the beer and food categories. The festival is a benefit for Face to Face, the Sonoma County AIDS Alliance.
1: Burning Can Beer Festival, Lyons, CO
Oskar Blues Brewery presents the 2013 Burning Can Beer Festival, which will take place at Bohn Park in Lyons. This afternoon event, held in partnership with the Colorado Brewers Guild and Lyons Outdoor Games, will feature canned beer from more than 30 craft breweries. There will also be live music; food trucks, including Oskar Blues' Bonewagon; and sports competitions (the beer festival takes place at Lyons Outdoor Games). Proceeds will benefit the Town of Lyons Department of Parks and Recreation and the Colorado Brewers Guild.
1: City Pages Beer Festival, Minneapolis, MN
City Pages magazine presents the 21st annual City Pages Beer Festival, which will take place at 10th and Hennepin, near the downtown theater district. This evening outdoor event will feature beer from a variety of domestic and foreign breweries (40 were represented at last year's festival); live music by Viva Knievel, accordionist Bill Koncar, and the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band; and free mechanical bull rides. Part of the proceeds will go to Finnegans.
1: Davis Beerfest, Davis, CA
The ninth annual Davis Beerfest will be held at the The Sudwerk Brewery in Davis. This afternoon event will feature more than 100 beers from over 50 breweries, a tour of the brewery, live music, appearances by local brewmasters, beer brat sandwiches for purchase, and a prize raffle. All proceeds support the programs of Citizens Who Care.
1-30: Detroit Craft Beer Month, various locations, Detroit area, MI
Real Detroit Weekly presents the inaugural Detroit Craft Beer Month, which will take place at various locations in and around Detroit. There will be hundreds of events, headlined by the Summer Beer Fest downtown (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, beer walks, brewery parties, and bar promotions.
1: Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest, Paso Robles, CA
The second annual Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest will be held at Frontier Town on the California Midstate Fairgrounds in Pasa Robles. Organizers expect to have beer from more than 40 domestic and foreign breweries; live music all day; food from more than 20 Central Coast restaurants; and a "Behind the Beer Sessions" educational program. The festival is a benefit for the Pioneer Day committee, which is dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Paso Robles.
1-2: Great Japan Beer Festival, Tokyo, Japan
The Japan Craft Beer Association presents the Great Japan Beer Festival 2013-Tokyo, which will take place at Ebisu Gerden Hall. The festival, which began in 1998, will feature more than 150 microbrewed beers.
1: International Great Beer Expo @ the Philadelphia Navy Yards, Philadelphia, PA
Starfish Junction Production presents the fifth annual International Great Beer Expo @ the Philadelphia Navy Yards. This afternoon event, to be held under a heated tent on the Marine Parade Grounds, will feature more than 100 beers from over 50 breweries, a beer education program, and food and merchandise vendors. 1: Liquid History--A Celebration of Craft Beer, Naperville, IL
The Naper Settlement, a museum in Naperville, will host Liquid History--A Celebration of Craft Beer, which will take place at the Visitors Center and Grounds. Attendees at this evening event are invited to sample beer from a number of leading breweries, talk to brewery representatives, have appetizers with their beer samples, walk the grounds of the settlement, and learn the history of Naperville's Stenger Brewery. 1: Milwaukee Beer Barons World of Beer Festival, Menomonee Falls, WI
The Milwaukee Beer Barons present the tenth annual World of Beer Festival, which will take place at Schwabenhof Pavillion, an indoor/outdoor venue in Menomonee Falls. This afternoon event, which organizers describe as "the best beer festival you never heard of," will feature more than 200 beers, meads, and ciders; a homebrewing demonstration; beer memorabilia on display; a guest speaker; live music; and food for purchase. The festival is a benefit for a number of brewing-related organizations. This festival is expected to sell out.
1: Mountain Brewers Festival, Idaho Falls, ID
The North American Brewers Association presents the 19th annual Mountain Brewers Festival, which will take place at Sandy Downs Racecourse in Idaho Falls. The rain-or-shine event, held "under the big top," is described by organizers as "one of the nation's premier judging festivals." Recent editions of this festival have featured beer from about 80 breweries, most from the West, along with a food court and live music.
1: Springs Preserve Brews & Blues Festival, Las Vegas, NV
Springs Preserve, a cultural institution in Las Vegas, will host the fourth annual Springs Preserve Brews & Blues Festival, which will take place at the Springs Ampitheater. This afternoon/evening event will feature beer from a wide range of domestic and international breweries (more than 20 were represented at recent festivals), along with live performances by five bands on the main festival stage.
6-8: Great Welsh Beer & Cider Festival, Cardiff, Wales
The Campaign for Real Ale presents the Great Welsh Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at Motorpoint Arena. The festival venue, which organizers describe as "the biggest pub in Wales," will feature around 160 Real Ales from throughout the UK, including many from Wales, along with over 60 ciders and a selection of foreign beers. The Champion Beer of Wales competition will take place Friday evening. There will be entertainment at both Friday sessions and Saturday afternoon, and locally-sourced food will be available.
6-8: Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival, Hitchin, England
The North Hertfordshire Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, the Hitchin Round Table, and the Hitchin Rugby Football Club present the 2013 Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at a new venue, the grounds of the Hitchin RFC. This two-and-a-half-day event will feature a selection of around 80 ales, with an emphasis on ales brewed within 25 miles of the venue. There will also be ciders, perries, and foreign beers.
6-8: Southampton Beer Festival, Southampton, England
The Southern Hampshire Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 17th annual Southampton Beer Festival, which will take place at the Guildhall. Organizers expect to have 90 Real Ales, along with 16 ciders and perries, and an extensive range of bottled beers from Britain, the Continent, and overseas; and wine by the glass. There will also be live music at three of the five sessions; hot food, sandwiches, and snacks; and a family room.
7-9: Avon Valley Railway Real Ale Festival, Bitton, England
The Avon Valley Railway will host the tenth annual Real Ale Festival. This festival, which has been expanded to three days, will take place at "The Railway," a covered area with views of the platform and tracks. Recent editions of this festival have featured dozens of Real Ales from local breweries "as well as a little farther afield," along with food served at the Station's buffet.
7-8: Collingham Real Ale Festival, Collingham, England
The third annual Collingham Real Ale Festival will be held at the Collingham & Linton Sports Association Club. Organizers expect to have more than 20 Yorkshire Real Ales plus a full bar, food available for purchase, and live music. There will be a VIP "meet the brewer" session Friday evening.
7-8: Fremont Toyota Lander Brew Festival, Lander, WY
Fremont Toyota presents the 2013 Lander Brew Festival, which will take place at soccer fields next to Lander Valley High School. The two-day event will feature an assortment of microbrewed beer (recent festivals have featured around 50 beers from more than 15 breweries). There will also be live music; a bicycle race; and food, including burgers, brats, and pizza. Fremont Toyota and the Visions Program at Wyoming Life Resource Center will provide free transportation from the festival to any destination in Lander.
7-8: Keswick Beer Festival, Keswick, England
The Keswick Rugby Club and Keswick Lions Club present the 2013 Keswick Beer Festival, which will take place at the Rugby Club. Organizers expect to have more than 250 barrels of beer and cider. There will also be performances by six live bands; and food, including sausage baguettes, beef burgers, pork rolls, and chicken curries. Proceeds will go to the Rugby Club and Lions Club charities.
7-8: Omaha Beer Fest, Omaha, NE
Urban Events, Inc., presents the fourth annual Omaha Beer Fest, which will take place at Stinson Park at Aksarben Village in Omaha. The two-day event will feature more than 150 craft-brewed beers from over 40 breweries, with brewmasters and brewery representatives on hand. The festivities will also include Beer Academy classes, live music both days, and food from local restaurants. VIP tickets, with early admission and a special selection of beer and food, are available for Saturday's session. The festival charity is Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy.
7: Raley Field Brewfest, Sacramento, CA
Raley Field, the home of the Sacramento River Cats, and the Northern California Brewer's Guild present the seventh annual Raley Field Brewfest. This evening event, which will take place on the outfield, will feature beer from more 60 vendors. There will be live music throughout the event, along with food for purchase. 7-8: Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest in Snowmass Village , CO
Snowmass Village will host its tenth annual Snowmass Chili Pepper & Brew Fest, which will take place at a new venue, Snowmass Town Park. This two-day event will feature beer from around the world (more than 30 breweries were represented last year). There will also be International Chili Society-sanctioned competition; and live music, headlined by Friday evening performer Return to the Dark Side of the Moon. The festival also offers on-site camping, late-night shows, crafts from local and regional artisans, and food from local restaurants and vendors.
8: Beer, Bourbon & Barbecue Festival, Richmond, VA
Trigger Agency, LLC, presents the Richmond stop on the Beer, Bourbon & Barbecue Festival tour, which will take place at Exhibition Hall in the Richmond Raceway Complex. This afternoon event will feature unlimited sampling of 60 beers and 40 bourbons; live rock, blues, and bluegrass music; barbecue and other foods; and seminars led by master distillers, brewmasters, and pit masters. VIP tickets, with early admission, an expanded selection of bacon dishes, and special stage access, are available.
8: Big Lick Beertopia, Roanoke, VA
The Roanoke Jaycees present the 2013 Big Lick Beertopia, which will take place at Lewis Gale Field, home of the Salem Red Sox. This afternoon event will feature beer from an expanded lineup of more than 35 breweries, a homebrew competition, music by live bands, and food for purchase. VIP tickets, with all-you-can-eat food and beverages, are available. Proceeds will benefit local charities.
8: Boulder SourFest, Boulder, CO
Avery Brewing Company presents the fourth Annual Boulder SourFest, which will take place in the brewery's Tap Room. Recent editions of this festival have been afternoon events featuring a selection of "extremely rare sour beers," all of them brewed in America with bacteria and wild yeast.
8: Brookhaven Beer Fest, Brookhaven, GA
The 2013 Brookhaven Beer Fest will take place at Apple Valley Park in Brookhaven, behind the MARTA station. This afternoon/evening event, to be held this year in a larger venue, will feature more than 150 beers to sample, along with two live bands and a DJ. Part of the proceeds will go to the Atlanta Fundraising Foundation.
8: Five Alarm Mountain Madness Chili Cook-Off & Brewfest, Farmington, PA
Nemacolin Woodlands Resort will host the fourth annual Annual Five Alarm Mountain Madness Chili Cook-Off & Brewfest. This daytime event will feature beer from a number of area breweries; and an International Chili Society-sanctioned cook-off, judged by ex-Steelers Brett Keisel, Cameron Heyward, and Doug Legursky. There will also be live entertainment, a craft fair, children's activities, and adventure sports. The festival will benefit the Farmington Volunteer Fire Department.
8: Great Northern Beer Festival, Eagle River, WI
The 2013 Great Northern Beer Festival will be held on the Festival Grounds at Hi-Pines Campground in Eagle River. Recent editions of this festival have been afternoon events with beer from more than 30 breweries, most from Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest; homebrew from the Northwoods LUSH Inc., Club; and food and snacks. Proceeds will be given to several local charities.
8: Houston Beer Festival, Houston, TX
The third Houston Beer Festival will be held in Hermann Square Park, on the lawns of City Hall. This all-day event will feature an expanded selection of beers (there were about 150 in past years), including a beer brewed especially for the festival. There will also be live music on three stages, beer-related workshops and lectures, food for purchase, and games. VIP tickets, with a special selection of beers, along with seating and shade, are available.
8: Mundelein Craft Beer Festival, Mundelein, IL
Mundelein Community Connections and Tighthead Brewing Company will host the second annual Mundelein Craft Beer Festival. This afternoon event will take place at the brewery and the Mundelein METRA station. It will feature beer from Tighthead and 30 other craft breweries, most of them from the Chicago area and Illinois. There will also be live music by two live bands, along with food for purchase. The festival is a benefit for the Mundelein Community Connection.
8-9: Portland Fruit Beer Festival, Portland, OR
Burnside Brewing Company will host the 2013 Portland Fruit Beer Festival. This two-day event will feature fruit beers from more than 25 breweries, including a number of one-off beers, served on rotating taps, along with local food and live music. Saturday VIP tickets, with early admission, are available. There will also be a preview homebrewers' dinner the evening before the festival itself.
8: Soroptimist International of Bidwell Rancho Microbrew Festival, Chico, CA
Soroptimist International of Bidwell Rancho presents the 18th annual Microbrew Festival, which will take place at Manzanita Place in Chico. This afternoon event, which is the primary fund-raiser for the Soroptomists, will feature beer from more than 40 breweries, most from California; live music from two bands; food; and prize raffles. This festival is expected to sell out.
13-15: Braintree Real Ale Festival, Braintree, England
The Braintree Lions Club and the North West Essex Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale present the ninth annual Braintree Real Ale Festival. It will take place at the Bocking Arts Theatre, formerly known as the Braintree Institute. Recent editions of this festival have featured more than 50 Real Ales, ciders, and perries, with an emphasis on Essex breweries. The festival is a fund-raiser for charity.
13-16: Molalla Brew Fest, Molalla, OR
The 2013 Molalla Brew Fest will be held at the corner of Ross Street and Molalla Avenue. This family-friendly festival, held in conjunction with Downtown Molalla's Second Friday celebration, has been expanded to three days. It will feature more than 25 craft beers along with wine, hard cider, and draft root beer. There will also be live music and food available for purchase.
13-15: Tynedale Beer Festival, Corbridge, England
The Tynedale Lions Club and the Tynedale Rugby Football Club present the 2013 Tynedale Beer Festival, which will take place at the football club's grounds in Corbridge. Organizers expect to have around 120 beers and ciders. There will be food for purchase and live music at all sessions. Parking is free, and camping is available.
14-15: Beer, Bourbon & Barbecue Festival, National Harbor, MD
Trigger Agency, LLC, presents the National Harbor stop on the Beer, Bourbon & Barbecue Festival tour, which will take place under tents at National Harbor. Friday evening's VIP "Whole Hog Friday Night Pig Pickin'" will feature a barbecue dinner, bourbon and beer tasting, and four pit masters on hand. Saturday afternoon's session will feature sampling of 60 beers and 40 bourbons; live rock and blues music; barbecue and other foods; and seminars led by master distillers, brewmasters, and pit masters. Saturday VIP tickets, with early admission, and all-session "Grand Poobah" tickets, are available.
14-16: Bierbörse, Koblenz, Germany
The inaugural Koblenz edition of Bierboerse, a series of beer festivals held across Germany, will take place at Rheinpromenade am Deutschen Eck. Hundreds of beers, including hard-to-find German microbrews, will be served in a Biergarten atmosphere. Festivities also include food and live entertainment, breweriana, and artisans' stands. 14-16: FyneFest, Calmdow, Scotland
Fyne Ales presents FyneFest 2013, which will take place in the fields next to the Fyne Ales brewery near Cairndow. This three-day celebration, to be held in scenic Argyll surroundings, will feature a selection of beers from Britain and continental Europe, including a collaboration beer; ciders and perries; locally-sourced food, including Loch Fyne oysters; and ten live bands performing a variety of music. Camping is available.
14-15: Hyper-Local Craft Brew Tasting, Somerville, MA
The Sustainable Business Network presents the fourth annual Hyper-Local Craft Brew Tasting, which will be held at the Armory in Somerville. This event has been expanded to two days. Friday evening's session will be a Hyper-Local Home Brew Showcase & Brewfest, and there will be two sessions on Saturday. The products of more than 20 breweries and local food artisans will be available, and there will also be live local music. The event is a fund-raiser for the Network's Local Food Program.
14-15: Real Ale & Cider Festival at the Kent & East Sussex Railway, Tenterden, England
The Ashford, Folkestone and Romney Marsh Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the fifth annual Real Ale & Cider Festival. It will take place at Tenterdon Town Station on the Kent & East Sussex Railway. A range of Real Ales, ciders, and perries will be available on the station platform and on some train departures; food will be available; and there will be entertainment on Saturday. CAMRA members will be admitted to the festival free.
14-23: Rochester Real Beer Week, Rochester, NY
The Business Association of the South Wedge Area and staff of the Tap & Mallet present Rochester Real Beer Week 2013, which will take place at a various locations in and around Rochester. Beer Week will be headlined by the Rochester Real Beer Expo (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, beer and food pairing, a "Women and Beer" symposium, a quiz night, release parties, and special tastings.
14-15: Rugby CAMRA Midsummer Beer & Cider Festival, Rugby, England
The Rugby Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 30th annual Rugby CAMRA Midsummer Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at Rugby Thornfields Indoor Bowling Club. The Brewers Association presents the 2013 SAVOR: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience, which will take place at the Altman Building and Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan. This event will feature more than 120 craft beers from 65 independent breweries, with brewery owners and brewmasters on hand; a reception-style presentation of sweet and savory foods; and directed tasted salons with the top names in beer and food. This event is expected to sell out.
14-15: Sisters Wine and Brew Festival, Sisters, OR
The 2013 Sisters Wine and Brew Festival will be held downtown on the Village Green. This family- and dog-friendly event will feature beers, wines, and spirits from the Pacific Northwest. There will also be live music, wine and beer pairing classes, cooking demonstrations, art vendors, and food from local restaurants and purveyors. Admission is free.
14-15: Stratford-upon-Avon Beer Festival, Stratford-upon-Avon, England
The Shakespeare Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the seventh annual Stratford-upon-Avon Beer Festival, which will take place at Stratford-on-Avon Racecourse. This two-day event will feature more than 55 Real Ales, along with 25 ciders and perries. Recent editions of this festival have also included hot and cold food, entertainment on Saturday, and camping and caravan facilities on the racecourse. Proceeds from the festival will support the Shakespeare Hospice.
14-16: Washington Brewers Festival, Redmond, WA
The Washington Beer Commission presents the 2013 Washington Brewers Festival, which will take place at King County's Marymoor Park in Redmond. Friday evening's 21-and-over session will feature beer from about 35 Washington breweries, including a special Friday-only beer selection, along with food and live music. Saturday and Sunday's sessions, which are open to all ages, will feature nearly 200 beers on tap, cider and wine tasting, live music, a brewers' keg toss contest, food, a craft market, and a kids' playground and root beer garden.
15-16: Beer in the Gibberd Garden, Old Harlow, England
The Herts & Essex Borders Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, along with the Gibberd Garden Trust, present the sixth annual Beer in the Gibberd Garden. This daytime event will feature more than 35 beers from East Anglia and London breweries, along with a selection of locally-produced ciders and perries. There will be free children's entertainment and a treasure hunt on Sunday. Admission to the festival includes entry to the garden.
15: Bru Fest Michigan, Royal Oak, MI
The third annual Bru Fest will be held at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. This evening event will feature craft beers from Bell's Brewery; live music; burgers from Bagger Dave’s, wings from Buffalo Wild Wings, and ice cream from Treat Dreams. Proceeds will benefit the Children's Leukemia Foundation of Michigan.
15: Chili Cookoff and Red Hot Classic, Tehachapi, CA
Main Street Tehachapi presents the fifth annual Chili Cookoff and Red Hot Classic, which will take place in downtown Tehachapi. This daytime event will feature an International Chili Society-sanctioned competition, a beer garden, live music, a classic car show, food for purchase, vendor and craft booths, and activities for children and families. Admission is free.
15: Door County Beer Festival, Bailey's Harbor, WI
The second annual Door County Beer Festival will be held at Town Hall Park on the shore of Lake Michigan in Baileys Harbor. This afternoon event will feature more than 140 beers from Wisconsin craft breweries, along with live music, presentations on beer and cheese, and food from local producers and restaurants.
15: Flying Saucer Spring Beer Fest, Garland, TX
The Flying Saucer Draught Emporium's Lake location, in Garland, will host its fourth annual Spring BeerFeast. This afternoon/evening event will feature more than 50 craft beers from over 25 breweries, selected by Flying Saucer staff. In addition, rare and limited-release beers will be tapped one at time throughout the fest. Food trucks will also be on hand, and live music has been added to this year's festival program. VIP tickets, with early admission, a food buffet, and access to the rare beer VIP-only line, are available.
15: Green River Brew Fest, Greenfield, MA
The ninth annual Green River Brew Fest will be held under big tents next to Ryan & Casey Liquors in Greenfield. This afternoon event will feature more than 70 beers from around 30 breweries. There will also be live music, with headline performer Vaneese Thomas; food vendors (the price of admission includes a food coupon); a prize raffle; and a cigar bar. The Business Association of the South Wedge Area presents the third annual Rochester Beer Expo, which will take place on Gregory Street. This evening event, which is the anchor event of Rochester Real Beer Week, will feature more than 80 craft-brewed beers; boutique wines; live local music; food, including locally-made cheeses and baked goods, Cajun barbecue, and pizza; locally roasted coffee; and hand-rolled cigars. 15: St. Paul Summer Beer Festival, St. Paul, MN
The fifth annual St. Paul Summer Beer Festival will be held at the International Bazaar on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. This outdoor afternoon event will feature beer from more than 85 breweries. There will also be live music, food, educational seminars, and a silent auction benefiting the YMCA of St. Paul.
15: Snowbird Brewfest, Cottonwood Heights, UT
Snowbird, a ski resort in Cottonwood Heights, will host its fifth annual Brewfest. It will take place in the Snowbird Center Upper Parking Lots. This two-afternoon event will feature more than a dozen Utah breweries, each of them pouring two or three beers. There will be live music as well as food, crafts, and merchandise vendors. In addition to the festival itself, there will also be a Father's Day barbecue on Sunday afternoon.
16-22: Ontario Beer Week, Province of Ontario, Canada
The Ontario Craft Brewers presents the fourth annual Ontario Craft Beer Week. The celebration of small and independent breweries opens with the traditional Father's Day kickoff, and includes more than 100 events in over 20 communities throughout the province. Headline events include the Beach BBQ & Brews Festival and the official closing event, Session 99. Other events include beer dinners, beer and food pairings, brewery tours, one-off and collaborative beers, and pub crawls.
19-23: Beer Mutiny, London, England
The Craft Beer Social Club, which challenges the public to change its perception about British beer, presents Beer Mutiny, which will be presented every three month. The inaugural Beer Mutiny will take place at Arch 402 in London. There will be a different beer menu each day, with more than 100 beers over the five days of the festival. At each session, attendees will first learn about the science behind beer tasting, then will be offered a choice of ten beers from the more than 30 on the menu.
21-23: Bierbörse, Hamm, Germany
The inaugural Hamm edition of Bierboerse, a series of beer festivals held across Germany, will take place at Marktplatz an der Pauluskirche. Hundreds of beers, including hard-to-find German microbrews, will be served in a Biergarten atmosphere. Festivities also include food and live entertainment, breweriana, and artisans' stands. The Bierboerse website is entirely in German.
21-23: Chicago Craft Beer Festival, Chicago, IL
The second annual Chicago Craft Beer Festival will be held on the grounds of St. Michael's Parish in Chicago's Old Town. This three-day event, which is modeled after an authentic Belgian beer fest, will feature more than 50 craft-brewed beers, with an emphasis on small Midwestern breweries. There will also be live music all three days, food for purchase, and artisans and crafters.
21-29: Lansing Beer Week, Lansing, MI
I'm a Beer Hound and Motor City Tour Company present the second annual Lansing Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in and around Lansing. Last year's events included a boat cruise, a pub crawl, a beer bus ride, beer and food pairings, tap takeovers, beer sampling, and a Short's Brewing bike ride.
21-22: London Beer & BBQ Show, London, ON, Canada
Porky's presents the 2013 London Beer & BBQ Show, which will be held at the Agriplex on the grounds of the Western Fair District. This two-day event will feature craft beer from Ontario; a barbecue challenge; games, including bocce ball and horseshoes, and a volleyball tournament; and a "Girl's Guided Tour to Beer."
21-22: Nuneaton & Bedworth Beer Festival, Nuneaton, England
The Nuneaton & Bedworth Sub-Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the Nuneaton & Bedworth Beer Festival, which will take place at the Nuneaton Co-Operative Club. This two-day event will feature 50 beers, ciders, and perries, including locally-brewed beers and festival specials. There will be live entertainment both evenings, and hot and cold food will be available.
21-29: Ohio Brew Week Festival, Athens, OH
The eighth annual Ohio Brew Week Festival will take place at more than 25 locations in around Athens. This year's keynote speaker is Bill Metzger, publisher of the Brewing News family of publications. Events at recent editions of this festival have included beer dinners, food and beer pairings, appearances by brewers and beer celebrities, special tastings, a homebrewing competition, and entertainment.
21-22: South Downs Beer & Cider Festival, Lewes, England
The Brighton & South Downs Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 17th annual South Downs Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at the Old Corn & Hop Exchange in Lewes Town Hall. This event will feature more than 70 Real Ales, along with ciders, perries, bottled beers, and country wines. Food and snacks will be available throughout the festival.
21-22: Summer Beer Fest, Detroit, MI
In celebration of Craft Beer Month, Real Detroit Weekly presents Summer Beer Fest 2013, which will take place at a new venue, Campus Martius in downtown Detroit. This two-evening event will feature beer, including limited releases, from more 60 breweries, with brewers and representatives on hand. There will be live music, along with food and merchandise vendors, games and contests, and a cigar bar.
22: Atlanta Summer Beer Fest, Atlanta, GA
Atlanta Beer Festivals presents the 2013 Atlanta Summer Beer Fest, which will take place at Masquerade Music Park. This afternoon/evening event will feature more than 150 beers, including many brewed in Atlanta, along with live music on two stages, the Bud Light Game Zone, and food vendors.
22: Avoca Museum Made in the Shade Craft Beer Festival, AltaVista, VA
Avoca Museum, the principal architectural landmark in AltaVista, will host the 2013 Made in the Shade Craft Beer Festival. This afternoon outdoor event will feature a variety of craft-brewed beers, with an emphasis on Virginia products, along with wine for sale. Three live acts are scheduled to perform; food, including pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers and baked goods, will be available for purchase; and merchandise vendors will be on hand.
22: BBQ Bands and Brews, Palmyra, VA
The Fluvanna County Chamber of Commerce presents the second annual BBQ, Bands and Brews, which will take place at Pleasant Grove in Palmyra. This family-friendly daytime event will feature a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned competition; a selection of beer from Virginia microbreweries; live bands; a Kid Zone; food, arts, and crafts; and assorted products and services.
22: Brew-Ha-Ha, Indianapolis, IN
The 17th annual Brew-Ha-Ha will take place in front of the Phoenix Theatre in the 700 block of North Park Avenue in Indianapolis. This afternoon event, which the theater describes as "Indy's original microbrew festival," will feature beer from more than 25 local craft breweries, along with food and live music. The festival is a benefit for the theater.
22-23: Colorado Brewers' Festival, Fort Collins, CO
The Fort Collins Downtown Business Association presents the 24th annual Colorado Brewers' Festival, which take place in the city's historic Old Town district. This afternoon event will feature beer an all-Colorado lineup of more than 60 beers from 40 breweries, including several from the Fort Collins area. Food will be available for purchase, and there will be live music both days of the festival.
22: Founders Fest, Grand Rapids, MI
Founders Brewing Company presents the sixth annual Founders Fest, which will take place in downtown Grand Rapids. Recent editions of this festival have been outdoor daytime beer and music festivals with Founders beer, including Founders Fest Wheat; live music; food vendors; and a "Local Artists Row" showcasing area artists and designers.
22: Gorge Blues & Brews, Stevenson, WA
The 20th annual Gorge Blues & Brews will be held at the Skamania County Fairgrounds in Stevenson. This afternoon event, to take place in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area, will feature beer from the area's breweries, along with a selection of wines. Three live blues bands will perform, and barbecue and other food will be available. There will also be a free Waterfront Jam the evening before the festival. Proceeds will benefit Washington Gorge Action Programs charities.

The fourth annual Lansdale Beer Tasting Festival will be held downtown at West 3rd Street and North Richardson Avenue. The Oshkosh Jaycees present the 18th annual Brews n' Blues, which will take place at Leach Amphitheater. This afternoon/evening event will feature more than 100 beers from 30 breweries. This year's festival will go "undercover," with cover bands instead of traditional blues performers. Food will be available for purchase. A limited number of VIP tickets are available. This year's main festival charity is the Take 5 Club.
22: Wild West Summer Beer Fest, Royal Oak, MI
The second annual Wild West Summer Beer Fest will be held at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. This evening event will feature a wide selection of craft-brewed beers (there were 80 at last year's event), live music, and beer-inspired cuisine from local restaurants. The festival charity is Camp Casey, a non-profit horseback riding program for children with cancer. This event is expected to sell out.
23: Stone Sour Fest, Escondido, CA
Stone Brewing Company will host the seventh annual Stone Sour Fest. This Sunday daytime event, which the brewery describes as one of the biggest festivals ever to feature this style, will feature a lineup of more than 100 sour beers, chosen by the brewery's "Dr." Bill Sysak. Food will be available at the brewery's restaurant.
28-30: Beer Passion Weekend, Antwerp, Belgium
Beer Passion magazine presents the 13th annual Beer Passion Weekend, which will take place at Groenplaats, the historic square in downtown Antwerp. This three-day event will feature around 200 beers, most of them brewed in Flanders, along with beer cuisine and musical entertainment. The Beer Passion website is entirely in Dutch.
28-29: Epic Beer Festival, Denver, CO
Epic Beer Festivals presents the inaugural Denver Epic Beer Festival, which will take place at the Colorado Convention Center. This two-day, three-session event will feature more than 300 craft beers from over 120 breweries. Food will be available for purchase.
29: Bell Tower Brewfest, Placerville, CA
Placerville's merchants present the 2013 Bell Tower Brewfest, which will take place in downtown Placerville. This evening event will feature more than 35 craft-brewed beers. Downtown streets will be closed for the festival, and several live bands will perform up and down Main Street. The festival is a fund-raiser for the Placerville Downtown Association, and is expected to sell out.
29: Brew at the Zoo, West Orange, NJ
Essex County's Turtle Back Zoo will host Brew at the Zoo. This evening event, which celebrates the zoo's 50th anniversary, will feature more than 50 beers from over 25 breweries, including a limited-edition Turtle Back Brew. There will also be live entertainment, and some of the zoo's exhibits will be open to attendees.

The fourth annual Clifford Champion Beer Festival will be held at Clifford Village Hall. Last year's festival featured 30 beers, many of them from Yorkshire breweries, including several special festival ales, along with traditional ciders and wine; live entertainment and dancing; and hot and cold food.
29-30: Great European Beerfest, Pittsburgh, PA
The 17th annual Great European Beerfest will be held at the Sharp Edge Beer Emporium in Pittsburgh. This two-day, three-session event, which organizers describe as America's "only all-European Beerfest," features more than 135 beers, including 40 from Belgium. Importers' representatives will be on hand, and there will be homemade food, entertainment, and a drawing for prizes at all sessions.
29: Hop N' Barley Beer Festival, Scotts Valley, CA
The 2013 Hop N' Barley Beer Festival will be held at Skypark in Scotts Valley. This afternoon community event will feature more than 100 beers, music by five local bands, bocce ball, food for purchase, and a children's area. The park is dog-friendly, and admission is free for those not tasting beer. Proceeds will go to the Community Housing Land Trust of Santa Cruz County.
29: Knockin' Rocks Brooms & Brewfest, Fort Collins, CO
The inaugural Knockin' Rocks Brooms & Brewfest will be held at NoCo Ice Center in Fort Collins. This afternoon event will feature beer from a variety of breweries, including some from northern Colorado. Brewery representatives and brewers will be on hand. There will also be live entertainment, along with food and merchandise vendors; and in addition, there will be curling matches at the Ice Center during the weekend. 29: Knoxville Brew Fest, Knoxville, TN
The third annual Knoxville Brewfest will be held at the Southern Railway Terminal in downtown Knoxville. This afternoon/evening outdoor event will feature beer "of all colors, styles and tastes," with more than 75 breweries expected to take part. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Net proceeds of the festival will benefit Cure Duchenne.
29: McMenamins Barley Cup, Salem, OR
McMenamins Breweries presents the 16th annual McMenamins Barley Cup, which will take place at Thompson Brewery & Public House, a historic structure in Salem. This event is a competition among McMenamins brewers, whose beer style will be determined by a random drawing. The winner of the Barley Cup, chosen by the Capital City Homebrewers Club, will represent McMenamins at the Holiday Ale Festival in Portland in December. Festival-goers are invited to vote for the "People's Choice" award. Brewers will be on hand to answer questions and give tours of the brewery.
29: Nashua River Brewers Festival, Fitchburg, MA
The fifth Nashua River Brewers Festival will be held at Riverfront Park in historic downtown Fitchburg. This afternoon event will feature beer from around 25 breweries, many of them from Massachusetts. There will also be live music on two stages. All proceeds to benefit the Riverfront Park Stage Capital Campaign and Fitchburg Civic Days.
29: New England Brewfest, Lincoln, NH
The Lincoln-Woodstock Chamber of Commerce presents the ninth annual New England Brewfest, which will be held at the Lincoln Village Shops in Lincoln.This rain-or-shine, afternoon/evening event will feature beer from around 30 of New England's leading microbreweries, live entertainment, educational programs and homebrewing demonstrations, food, and merchandise vendors.
