The German Cultural Foundation of the Rocky Mountains and the German American Chamber of Commerce–Colorado Chapter present the 14th annual Denver Christkindl Market. It will take place downtown at Skyline Park. This centuries-old traditional Christmas market will feature vendors selling high-quality gift items; German-style beer and warm Glühwein; food, including bratwurst, potato pancakes, goulash and apple strudel; and entertainment, featuring community and high school groups singers and performers.
1-5: Pig's Ear Beer & Cider Festival, London, England
The East London & City Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 32nd Pig's Ear Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at the Round Chapel in Hackney, London E5. This event, whose name is Cockney rhyming slang for “beer,” will feature more than 250 domestic and foreign beers, including cask-conditioned ales, beer from new breweries in Hackney and the rest of London, and more than 30 ciders.
2-6: Portland Holiday Ale Festival, Portland, OR
The Oregon Brewers Guild presents the 20th annual Portland Holiday Ale Festival, which will take place downtown in Pioneer Square. This five-day event will feature more than 50 strong ales including Imperial IPAs, barleywines, winter warmers, and Scotch ales. The venue itself is heated, contains one of the region's largest decorated Christmas trees, and has a clear tent that allows views of the city lights. There will also be food for purchase and a prize raffle. Sunday's Beer Brunch will feature a European-style menu and a special selection of beers. Part of the proceeds will go to the Children’s Cancer Association.
4-5: Winter Beer Festival, Seattle, WA
The Washington Brewers Guild presents the 2015 Winter Beer Festival, which will take place in Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park in Seattle. This two-day, three-session event will feature winter seasonals from more than 50 Washington State breweries, including a selection of barrel-aged beers. Food will be available for purchase.
5: Sip. Shop. Celebrate., Charlestown, MD
The Wellwood Club, a seafood restaurant in historic Charlestown, will host Sip. Shop. Celebrate. It will take place in The Pavilion. This event will feature tastings of craft beer, wine, and liquor; and specially-priced bottles will be available to take home. Local artists will be on hand, and merchandise will be available for purchase. There will also be live music. This event will benefit The Milburn Stone Theatre's Save Our Sound.
5: Valley Forge Beer & Cider Festival, Oaks, PA
Starfish Junction Productions presents the 2015 Valley Forge Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with more than 150 beers and hard ciders from over 75 breweries and cideries, including some from the Philadelphia area. Food will be available for purchase. The festival charity is the Committee to Benefit the Children. Festival-goers are asked to bring a non-perishable food item.
12: Beer Conn, Bridgeport, CT
Starfish Junction Productions presents the 2015 Beer Conn, which will take place at the Webster Bank Arena in the Harbor Yard Sports and Entertainment Complex in Bridgeport. There will be afternoon and evening sessions, each with more than 100 beers from over 50 domestic and international breweries. Food will be available for purchase.
12: Beer Fest Beat Down, Hoffman Estates, IL
El Santa Diabla presents the 2015 Beer Fest Beat Down, which will take place at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. This afternoon event will feature more than 100 craft beers and ciders from over 30 breweries, including some from the Chicago area. The selection will include rare and seasonal beers. Masked daredevils will compete for the title of Beer Fest Beatdown King, and food trucks and merchandise vendors will be on hand. VIP tickets, with early admission and complimentary food, are available.
12: Grand Slam Beer Fest, Port Charlotte, FL
Fat Point Brewing and the Charlotte Stone Crabs baseball team present the 2015 Grand Slam Beer Fest, which will take place at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte. This afternoon event will feature a variety of Florida-brewed craft beers, along with a “Freak Show Tent” sponsored by Big Top Brewing. There will be a kids’ area, a brewers’ dunk tank, and a fireworks display; and food trucks will be at the ballpark.
12: The Great St. Louis Czech Beer Festival, St. Louis, MO
The second annual Great St. Louis Czech Beer Festival will be held at the American-Czech Educational Center. This afternoon event will celebrate all styles of pivo, ranging from St. Louis craft beers to the traditional pilsners of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Festival-goers are invited to vote for the Pivo of the Year Award. There will also be live music, and food and merchandise will be available for purchase.
19-20: Kerstbierfestval, Essen, Belgium
O.B.E.R., the Essen Region chapter of the Objective Beer Tasters, presents Kerstbierfestval, a Christmas Beer Festival. This two-day event will feature 150 bottled and 20 draft Christmas and winter beers from Belgium, including hot Gluhkriek. Food, including beef stew, cheeses, sausage, and soup, will be available for purchase.
31: Brew Year’s Eve, Chicago and Elgin, IL
Lou Dog Events presents Brew Year’s Eve, which will take place at two locations, Salvage One in Chicago and the Haight Building in Elgin. Both of these evening events will feature more than 30 beers from 12 Chicagoland breweries. There will also be live music, butler-passed hors d’oeuvres, a late-night pizza buffet, and unique photo ops.
