Beer Weeks 2013
Beer Weeks are city, or regionally organized, multi-event celebrations showcasing craft beer. They've become increasingly popular over the last year, as they offer even more opportunities to quaff great locally brewed beers over the course of several days at different venues and establishments. Although they all appear in the monthly event calendars, we've organized them here alphabetically for you. Click on the location to show the details and a link.

Albuquerque, NM: April 25-May 4
The third annual Albuquerque Beer Week will take place at various locations in Albuquerque. Last year's Beer Week consisted of more than 50 events, including a Trolley Ale Trail, beer dinners, beer and food pairings, a Craic Fest, educational programs, special releases, tap takeovers, trivia contests, and the Dukes of Ale homebrew competition. Beer Week closes with Albuquerque Blues & Brews (listed separately on the calendar).
American Craft Beer Week, nationwide: May 13-19:
The Brewers Association presents 2013 American Craft Beer Week, which will take place at establishments across the country. American Craft Beer Week, which kicks off the summer craft beer season, will be celebrated by hundreds of craft brewers and beer retailers, thousands of beer fans, and a congressional resolution honoring the nation's craft brewing industry.
Annapolis, MD: April 20-27
Annapolis Beer Week 2013 will take place at various locations in Annapolis. Events during this eight-day celebration of craft beer include a Beer Run on opening day, a beer cruise, meet-the-brewer events, a Craft Beer Crawl, a Singles Night, beer specials, and Laughs and Drafts (listed separately on the calendar) on the final evening.
Asheville, NC: May 25-June 1
The second annual Asheville Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around Asheville. Events at last year's Beer Week included the Brews Cruise, daily brewery tours, a scavenger hunt, beer dinners and food and beer pairings, a beer knowledge quiz, the "Beer 101" educational program, games, and special tastings. Beer Week culminates with the Beer City Festival (listed separately on this calendar).
Athens, OH: June 21-29
The eighth annual Ohio Brew Week Festival will take place at more than 25 locations in around Athens. This year's keynote speaker is Bill Metzger, publisher of the Brewing News family of publications. Events at recent editions of this festival have included beer dinners, food and beer pairings, appearances by brewers and beer celebrities, special tastings, a homebrewing competition, and entertainment.
Arizona: February 16-23
The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild presents the third annual Arizona Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in cities throughout the state. Previous Beer Weeks have featured more than 250 events including special tastings, beer dinners, a "Kegs and Eggs" breakfast, educational seminars, a Light Rail Pub Crawl, and the Arizona Strong Beer Fest (listed separately on the calendar).
Bellingham, WA: August 20-29
The second annual Bellingham Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around Bellingham, including the city's three craft breweries. Events during this ten-day celebration of craft beer include a kickoff event, beer and food pairings, Oktoberfest-style events, brewery tours, tap takeovers, homebrew demonstrations, and special tastings.
Bend area, OR: May 20-27
The second annual Central Oregon Beer Week will take place at various locations in Bend and other communities in central Oregon, a region with among the most breweries per capita in America. Events will include the BrewSki festival at Mt. Bachelor (listed separately on the calendar), the Bend Ale Trail, meet-the-brewer events, beer dinners, tap takeovers, and tours.
Boston, MA: March 8-17
Beer Advocate magazine presents Boston Beer Week 2013, which will take place at scores of locations within the 128 Belt. This year's celebration of craft beer from Boston and beyond has been moved to March, and will end on St. Patrick's Day. The feature event will be the Extreme Beer Fest (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, meet-the-brewer events, pub crawls, trivia contests, beer releases, and special tastings.
Charlotte, NC: March 15-24
The third annual Charlotte Craft Beer Week will take place at establishments throughout the Charlotte area. Events during this ten-day grassroots celebration of craft beer will include tastings of rare and exotic brews, showcases featuring local and regional breweries, food and beer pairing events, brewery tours, and appearances by beer celebrities.
Chicago, IL: May 16-26
The fourth annual Chicago Craft Beer Week will be celebrated at more than 250 venues throughout the city. This event's theme is "Chicago: A City of Neighborhoods," with venues divided into multiple neighborhoods plus the suburbs. Chicago Beer Week, which coincides with American Craft Beer Week, will begin with Beer Under Glass (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, food and beer pairings, tap takeovers, special tastings, and meet-the-brewer evenings.
Cincinnati, OH: February 7-14
The second annual Cincinnati Beer Week will take place at dozens of locations in and around Cincinnati. The headline event of this "independent, grass-roots celebration of craft beer" is the Cincy Winter Beerfest (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, food and beer pairings, meet-the-brewer nights, a "state-to-state" pub crawl, tap takeovers, and releases.
Cleveland, OH: October 18-26
The fifth annual Cleveland Beer Week will take place at more than 125 bars, restaurants, and retailers throughout greater Cleveland. Last year's Beer Week began with "Collaboration Crawls" in five neighborhoods, and concluded with "Brewzilla: A Monster of a Beer Tasting" (listed separately on the calendar). More than 350 other events will take place this year. Recent editions of Beer Week have included a homebrew competition; "Ales on Rails" on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad; beer and food pairings, demonstrations, leisure activities, educational programs, and tastings.
Detroit area, MI: June 1-30
Real Detroit Weekly presents the inaugural Detroit Craft Beer Month, which will take place at various locations in and around Detroit. There will be hundreds of events, headlined by the Summer Beer Fest downtown (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, beer walks, brewery parties, and bar promotions.
Eugene/Springfield, OR: May 4-11
The third annual Eugene Beer Week will take place at breweries, restaurants, bars, and stores throughout the Eugene/Springfield area. Beer Week will be headlined by the Sasquatch Brew Fest (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, beer and food pairings, beer-related educational events, special tastings and releases, and pint specials.
Frederick, MD: May 11-18
Flying Dog Brewery presents the third annual Frederick Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in Maryland's second-largest community. The headline event is the Maryland Craft Beer Festival (listed separately on the calendar). Past years' events have also included an "unofficial" kickoff party, Mother's Day beer brunches, a family-friendly firkin ale festival, a beer judging class, a homebrew competition, an appearance by beer celebrities, a tap takeover featuring locally-brewed beer, and a scavenger hunt.
Grand Rapids, MI: February 18-23
Liquid Table Beverage Solutions presents the second annual Grand Rapids Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in and around Grand Rapids. The headline event of this celebration is the Michigan Brewers Guild's Winter Beer Festival (listed separately on the calendar). Other Beer Week events will include pre- and post-festival parties, food and beer pairings, rare beer tastings, and tap takeovers.
Kalamazoo, MI: January 12-18
Imperial Beverage and Discover Kalamazoo present the third annual Kalamazoo Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in and around Kalamazoo. Last year's events included a kickoff pub crawl with free double-decker bus rides, stopping at area brewpubs and beer bars; beer dinners and food and beer pairings; brewery tours; meet-the-brewer events; special tastings and releases; trivia contests; and beer-themed movies.
Lansing, MI: June 21-29
I'm a Beer Hound and Motor City Tour Company present the second annual Lansing Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in and around Lansing. Last year's events included a boat cruise, a pub crawl, a beer bus ride, beer and food pairings, tap takeovers, beer sampling, and a Short's Brewing bike ride.
Las Vegas, Reno, and other locations in NV: May 20-June 1
The third annual Nevada Beer Weeks will take place at hundreds of bars, retailers, and other establishments in Las Vegas and Reno, as well as at other locations in Nevada. These 13-day celebrations will include several beer festivals, along with beer dinners, beer and food pairings, tap takeovers, and special tastings.
Long Island, NY: May 10-19
The third annual Long Island Craft Beer Week will take place at breweries, restaurants, and bars on Long Island. This ten-day celebration of craft beer is an effort to raise awareness of local craft beer culture and encourage people to go to local establishments. Events in past Beer Weeks have included the Golden Tap Awards Gala, Caskfest, meet-the-brewer nights, beer dinners, brewery tours, trivia, cooking classes, and special tastings.
Madison, WI: May 3-12
The third annual Madison Craft Beer Week will take place at various locations in Madison and Dane County. Last year's edition of this ten-day, two-weekend celebration of craft beer featured more 100 events including beer dinners, beer and food pairings, an educational program, meet-the-brewer events, homebrewing demonstrations, pub crawls, and a scavenger hunt.
Milwaukee, WI: April 13-20
GreatBrewers.com presents the fourth annual Milwaukee Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in and around Milwaukee. The headline event of Beer Week is the Milwaukee Taste of Great Brewers festival. Past years' events have also included beer dinners, beer and cheese pairings, special tastings, discounted pints and pitchers, fish fries, and a golf outing.
Nashville, TN: March 18-24
Rhizome Productions presents Nashville Craft Beer Week 2013, which will take place at various locations in and around Nashville. A feature event of this year's Beer Week is the East Nashville Beer Festival (listed separately on the calendar. Other events will include beer dinners, meet-the-brewer events, releases, tap takeovers, and bar and in-store tastings.
New York, NY: February 22-March 3
The New York City Brewers Guild presents the fifth Annual New York City Beer Week will take place at more than 100 venues in New York City. All 12 of the city's craft breweries will take part. The three signature events are the Opening Night Party at Galapagos Art Space, NYC Brewer's Choice at City Winery, and the Closing Party at La Birreria at Eataly. Other events will include beer dinners and brunches, meet-the-brewer events, tap takeovers, pub trivia, tastings, and releases.
North Carolina: April 1-30
The North Carolina Brewers Guild present the inaugural North Carolina Beer Month, which will be celebrated at various locations in Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, and other communities across the state. Breweries statewide will be offering month-long craft promotions such as prix-fixe menus, beer and food pairings, classes, brewery tours, collaboration beers, and releases.
Omaha, NE: February 15-24
Ontario, Canada: June 16-22
The Ontario Craft Brewers presents the fourth annual Ontario Craft Beer Week. The celebration of small and independent breweries opens with the traditional Father's Day kickoff, and includes more than 100 events in over 20 communities throughout the province. Headline events include the Beach BBQ & Brews Festival and the official closing event, Session 99. Other events include beer dinners, beer and food pairings, brewery tours, one-off and collaborative beers, and pub crawls.
Philadelphia, PA: May 31-June 9
Philly Beer Week 2013 will take place at numerous locations in and around Philadelphia. Recent Beer Weeks have included a number of signature events, including the Opening Tap (listed separately on the calendare); Smoke 'Em If Yous Got 'Em, a beer and barbecue festival; Forum of the Gods, a panel discussion with the top names in beer culture; the Jackson Tutored Tastings; and Zythos America. In addition, there were hundreds of events including beer dinners, special tastings, releases, and meet-the-brewer evenings.
Pittsburgh, PA: April 19-27
The Pittsburgh Craft Beer Alliance presents the second annual Pittsburgh Craft Beer Week, which will take place at breweries, bars, restaurants, and bottle shops in and around the city. Events include beer dinners, beer and food pairings, meet-the-brewer events, homebrewing demonstrations, special tastings, and collaboration beers.
Rochester, NY: June 14-23
The Business Association of the South Wedge Area and staff of the Tap & Mallet present Rochester Real Beer Week 2013, which will take place at a various locations in and around Rochester. Beer Week will be headlined by the Rochester Real Beer Expo (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, beer and food pairing, a "Women and Beer" symposium, a quiz night, release parties, and special tastings.
Sacramento, CA: February 22-March 3
The Sacramento beer community presents the fourth annual Sacramento Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in the Sacramento Valley. There will be more than 400 events, headlined by the Sacramento Brewers Showcase and the Capital Beerfest (listed separately on the calendar). Other events include beer dinners, food and beer pairings, meet-the-brewer nights, special tastings, trivia contests, educational programs, and specially-priced pints.
St. Louis, MO: July 27 - August 4
The fifth annual St. Louis Craft Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around St. Louis. Last year's events included meet-the-brewer opportunities, beer education, beer dinners, beer and food pairings, tutored tastings, tap takeovers, and trivia contests.
San Antonio, TX: May 12-20
The third annual San Antonio Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around San Antonio. This year's Beer Week has been expanded to ten days. Events at past Beer Weeks have included a special night at each of the San Antonio-area breweries, beer dinners and tastings, walking and bus pub crawls, a pro-am brewing competition, a lineup of speakers, and numerous special beers.
San Francisco, CA: February 8-17
San Francisco Beer Week, a ten-day celebration of the city's craft beer and brewing, will take place at various locations throughout the Bay Area. Headline events include the Bistro's Double IPA Festival, the Toronado Barleywine Festival, and Celebrator magazine's Best of the West Beer Fest. Other events will include beer dinners and other food and beer events, meet-the-brewer evenings, homebrewing demonstrations, and music and films.
Seattle, WA: May 9-19
The fifth annual Seattle Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around Seattle. Recent editions of this 11-day celebration of craft beer have included a "beer bus crawl," a celebration of Northwest women in beer, beer dinners and brunches, food and beer pairings, tap takeovers, release parties, and games and contests.
South Shore, Cape & Islands, eastern MA: May 4-11
GreatBrewers.com presents the second annual South Shore, Cape & Islands Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in eastern Massachusetts. Events will include a Brews Cruise, beer dinners, meet-the-brewer events, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, tap takeovers, and special tastings.
Tampa Bay Area, FL: March 2-10
The second annual Tampa Bay Beer Week will take place at various locations in the Tampa Bay area. The headline event will be the Florida Brewers Guild Beer Festival in Ybor City (listed separately on the calendar). There will be more than 150 other events including beer dinners, tap takeovers, release parties, meet-the-brewer events, tastings and a 5-K run.
Vancouver, Bristish Columbia: May 31-June 8
Vancouver's fourth annual Craft Beer Week will take place at various locations in metropolitan Vancouver. This celebration of craft beer culture in the region will consist of daily headline events, including the VCBW Beer Festival. Other events at recent festivals have included beer dinners, tap takeovers, pub crawls, rock concerts, meet-the-brewer nights, and a "Sisters of the Tap" session.
