November 29-3: Pig's Ear Beer & Cider Festival, London, England
The East London & City Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 33rd Pig's Ear Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at the Round Chapel in Hackney, London E5. This name of this five-day event is derived from Cockney rhyming slang for “beer”. Recent editions of this festival have featured more than 250 domestic and foreign beers, including cask-conditioned ales; beer from new breweries in Hackney and the rest of London; and more than 30 ciders.
November 30-4: Portland Holiday Ale Festival, Portland, OR
The Oregon Brewers Guild presents the 21st annual Portland Holiday Ale Festival, which will take place downtown in Pioneer Square. This five-day event will feature more than 50 strong ales, many of them hard to find in the Portland area. The venue itself is heated, contains one of the region's largest decorated Christmas trees, and has a clear tent that allows views of the city lights. There will also be food for purchase and a prize raffle. Sunday's Beer Brunch will feature a European-style menu and a special selection of beers. Part of the proceeds will go to the Children’s Cancer Association.
2-3: Winter Beer Festival, Seattle, WA
The Washington Brewers Guild presents the 2016 Winter Beer Festival, which will take place inside Hangar 30 at Magnuson Park in Seattle. This is a two-day, three-session event. Recent editions of this festival have featured winter seasonals from more than 50 Washington State breweries, including a selection of barrel-aged beers, along with food for purchase.
3: Brewmore Craft Beer Tasting, Baltimore, MD
Trigger Agency, LLC, presents the 2016 Brewmore Craft Beer Tasting, which will take place at the 1840s Ballroom in Baltimore. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with more than 50 craft beers, including hard-to-find beers. There will also be DJ music, and food will be available for purchase.
3: Valley Forge Beer & Cider Festival, Oaks, PA
Starfish Junction Production presents the sixth annual Valley Forge Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at the Greater Philly Expo Center in Oaks. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with more than 150 beers and ciders from over 75 breweries and cideries. Food will be available for purchase. The festival charity is the local Committee to Benefit the Children at St. Christopher’s Hospital.
10: The Great St. Louis Czech Beer Festival, St. Louis, MO
The American Czech Educational Center will host the third annual Great St. Louis Czech Beer Festival. This afternoon event, also presented by PivoSTL, will feature Czech-style beer from 20 Missouri and Illinois breweries, along with six beers imported from the Czech Republic. Festival-goers are invited to vote for the Pivo of the Year Award. There will also be live music, and food and merchandise will be available for purchase.
10: Haddenham Winterfest, Haddenham, England
The 2016 Haddenham Winterfest will be held in the Village Hall/Banks Park Complex. This afternoon event, which is both a Real Ale Festival and a Christmas party, will feature more than 40 Real Ales, along with mulled wines and gin fusions. There will also be live music, a visit from the Haddenham Mummers, and food for purchase. The festival is a fund-raiser for the Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust.
17-18: Kerstbierfestval, Essen, Belgium
O.B.E.R., the Essen Region chapter of the Objective Beer Tasters, presents Kerstbierfestval, a Christmas Beer Festival. This two-day event will feature more than 175 bottled and draft Christmas and winter beers from Belgium, including hot Gluhkriek. Food, including beef stew, cheeses, sausage, and soup, will be available for purchase.
26: World Live Cafe Winter Beer Festival, Philadelphia, PA
World Live Cafe, in Philadelphia, will host its ninth annual Winter Beer Festival. This Monday evening event will feature more than 50 domestic and imported beers, with an emphasis on winter seasonals.
